STEP 1: Identify your research interests

Before starting the JEMARO Master Programme, students are asked to think about the Research Field/Topic they would like to work on over their 2-year Research Track. Their research will be jointly supervised by a European and a Japanese professor over their 2 years on the programme.

When applying, students will be asked to indicate a Research Field/Topic in which they are interested on their motivation form

STEP 2: Prepare the required documents

The following documents must be uploaded on the online application platform (in PDF format):

• CV
• First pages of passport or identity card indicating the nationality
• Proof of residence: a valid proof of residence is issued by an administration (public or private) and contains the candidate's name AND address. Examples:
  • a certificate from the candidate's place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question (attach certified English translation)
  • a residence certificate issued by the candidate's city hall / municipality administration (attach certified English translation)
  • a bank statement with the candidate's name and address...
  • Important: The place of residence certificate must have been issued within 12 months before the submission deadline.
• Academic degree and transcripts of all university studies with translation into English, i.e. Bachelor's, Master's or equivalent. All the documents must be merged into a single file. If the degree is due to be obtained after the deadline, a certificate from the institution indicating the situation of the student and the expected date of graduation must be provided
• Motivation form (download mandatory template in Word | in PDF)
• Recognized International English Test Certificate, no older than 3 years: TOEFL (CBT 220, PBT 550, IBT 80, home edition is accepted), Cambridge B2 First Test (173 or higher), Cambridge C1 Advanced Test (160 or higher), IELTS (6.5 or higher, online edition is accepted), TOEIC (800). No other test is recognized. If the language of instruction of your Bachelor/Master studies is English, you must provide an official document or letter from the University certifying it. In that case, submitting an English Test Certificate is not compulsory. Please note that the GRE cannot replace one of the English Test Certificates listed above.
• Names and recommendation letters from 2 referees (professors, department heads, tutors, dean of studies etc.) who are able to comment on your qualifications for graduate studies. The recommendation letters have to be uploaded on the application website by the referees themselves and before the application deadline (details in the application procedure).

If candidates/applicants are selected (proposed for a scholarship/fellowship, put on the reserve list or enrolled on a self-paying basis) their data may be used for the purposes of evaluating the programmes, efficiently managing the projects, and producing statistics. Data could be made available to the EACEA, the European Commission, the European External Action Service staff, as well as to other stakeholders of the Erasmus+ programme, such as Erasmus+ National Agencies, National Erasmus+ Offices and the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association.
